Verdigris

This antique gate was originally covered with layers of flaking paint and rust. Even though it had a mostly-pleasing patina, several pieces were beyond repair and had to be replaced with new metal.  In order to establish consistency between the old and new, we painted the entire gate with copper-toned metal paint and then created the effect of rusted copper.  This process is called verdigris and is a very attractive way to bring an old-world look to any new metal.
